About Me
A Note of Introduction
My name is Regan Szambelan, and I am pursuing my degree in BioHealth Sciences from Oregon State University (OSU). After graduation, I plan to attend veterinary school or medical school.
I grew up in West Linn, OR, on a small property with a horse facility. After a brief hiatus in Texas to attend a different University, I returned home to Oregon, longing for the beauty and horses I had grown up with and known for so long. Horses have been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember—my parents had horses on our property before I was old enough to have my own. I competed at a high level in show jumping but am currently taking a break to focus on academics and my future career. However, I still ride my horse, Reno, at home frequently and plan to return to competitions as soon as possible.
I have never taken a communication course, so I am excited to be in the Communicating Online course at OSU and hope to learn many new things. I primarily use email, text messages, and phone calls to communicate with family and close friends. I stay connected with distant relatives and friends through Instagram. The horse community is active on Facebook, so I frequently use it to communicate about horse-related ventures.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone in the course and growing in how I communicate online!
